1. If I am charged with a misdemeanor or felony, should I get an attorney?
Yes. It would be unwise to appear unrepresented at any stage of a criminal proceeding due to the direct and collateral consequences of a criminal conviction. 2. If I am under investigation, but not charged, do I need a lawyer?
Yes. If you are being investigated (or have been questioned) by city, state or federal authorities, it is a good idea to consult with Laybourne Law LLC before charges may be filed. Our attorneys can preserve your rights and possibly avoid charges being filed in the first place. Do not speak to the police without an attorney present.
3. If I took the breathalyzer test and blew over the legal limit, do I really need an attorney?
Yes. Just because you allegedly blew over the limit, does not mean that Laybourne Law cannot challenge the stop, administration of the Field Sobriety Test, arrest, administration of the BAC testing device, etc. Further, the Akron OVI Lawyers at Laybourne Law LLC may be able to secure a resolution that would avoid certain consequences. 4. If I hire Laybourne Law LLC, will my case be handed off to an inexperienced associate attorney?

5. Do I have to take my case to trial?

We always attempt to secure a fair plea bargain as an option for our clients to accept if they choose to. If the client does not wish to enter into a plea bargain, that is fine with us. We are not afraid to take your case to trial and work diligently for an acquittal.
